He paid the labour the promised amount and had a wait while she drove all the way from Mumbai to check what he actually had done… She had made doubly sure that the cheque for his hefty payment was with her and she was carrying a cheque book too… She had decided to reward him with additional 100K if the design was exotic enough to realise her dreams…
She entered the bungalow main gate and was fascinated at the exteriors – the way the lawn was decorated along with small decorative plants that adorned the walkway from the parking to the main door.
With beating heart, she rang the doorbell and immediately was opened by Akash who had a wide smile…
“Hey! Where’s your husband?” he said looking around
“He had an urgent meeting at Delhi – he will be here tomorrow afternoon.”
“Oh!” he expressed his disappointment
“Why – now my husband has become more important to you?” she jabbed him teasingly
“No… actually, I thought I would show you my work when you are together – I wanted to capture your expressions when you see your bedroom – that’s where your dreams lie and that’s what I have worked on to be the best of my designs till date…”
“No problems – we can show him the bedroom on a video call… I am dying to know how you have designed it…”
“It befits a queen like you… and as your king I wanted him along with you.”
They toured the rest of the bungalow and she was really happy that the work was up to the expectations she had and was now ready to check her bedroom… Akash knew that he now couldn’t stop her from entering into her bedroom now – so he asked her to wait outside and entered the bedroom. He fixed his mobile camera at a corner to capture her expressions and turned ON the video mode and stepped out…
“I will wait for you in the main hall – once I enter into the hall – you open the door to your bedroom and check it out…” he said mysteriously arousing her interest to fullest. She entered the bedroom as soon as Akash stepped into the hall – he could hear her screams of surprise and happiness and was satisfied that he indeed had achieved what he had planned.
“Akash!” she called him and he entered her bedroom to find an absolutely happy her… he went to his mobile phone and stopped the video recording and played it back to the point where she entered the bedroom – the surprise and the joy of seeing her bedroom was exceptional and he was happy for his work and her joy that could be seen…
“Actually – I wanted to shoot your reaction with your husband when you enter in – I see that he has not accompanied you here…”
“He had an urgent and an important meeting at Delhi – he couldn’t come along with me – but he will be back in Mumbai tomorrow – I will record his reaction and send it to you when we visit day after tomorrow… will that work?”
“Absolutely… In fact, I am happy that you liked the way I have designed your bedroom…”
“Like it? I love it… It’s really made me feel special… so what’s your plan now?”
“Nothing – I will go to the bank and deposit the cheque you have given – then go to the place I had rented – pay off the rent – collect my items and drive back to Mumbai… then, maybe I will rest for a while or take a tour somewhere in India again…” he smiled at her.
“Don’t go before meeting me – we will have a coffee party before we leave for Mumbai…”
