He looked at me the way the moon meets sea,
I met his gaze, got lost within its light.
I lost myself inside his silent deep,
Yet love, once born, refused to leave my sight.

I loved him true, with all my heart could bear,
He unloved me, like seasons shed their past.
Yet still, I stand, mere whispers in the air,
A love that bloomed, but never meant to last.

He walked ahead while I was left behind,
His heart untouched, while mine began to fray.
Yet echoes of his name still haunt my mind,
A love that bloomed, then slowly slipped away.

And now I stand where love and sorrow meet,
Holding a rose whose thorns cut bittersweet.
