Akash pondered for a minute, “No – I can’t. Meeting a lawyer will further make the police think that I was involved with their deaths – I simply have to prove that it wasn’t me – and I don’t know how to do that…”
“Ok – let’s meet tomorrow at Café Plaza around lunch time. I will call you before I visit there. You can tell me what happened and then we can think how to get a solution for your problem. By the way are any policemen keeping a watch here at this venue?”
“Yes – you see the security person there at the entrance – he is a policeman in plain clothes. They have been following me everywhere. The reason they haven’t yet arrested me because they couldn’t find anything to implicate that I was involved in the deaths…”
“You have called me your friend – and I will see to it that you are cleared. One thing I honestly want to know – were you involved in their deaths?”
“I swear on GOD or anyone you want me to – I was not involved. Ayushi was a girl – the only girl I had thought of marrying – why would I kill her – her death was a shock to me…”
She gave one long look at him “Ok – so we meet tomorrow for lunch – till then let us enjoy the party… cheer up.”
The party was a grand one and they enjoyed the party – it was almost 1pm when he reached his home. He couldn’t stop thinking about Tanisha – she indeed was bubbly and fun to be around – thinking thus, he slept off …
Next day he was ready to meet Tanisha at Café Plaza which was a decent joint and he reached few minutes before the time fixed. He was standing outside the café when he saw Tanisha walk toward the café – she looked all the prettier and she wasn’t wearing her glasses – he looked at other side and saw policemen in plain clothes keeping a watch over him. He was sad that his life was making him feel a criminal which he wasn’t…
They greeted and sat on a vacant table discussing about the menu they would order and he looked across to see the policemen taking a seat near their table in the hearing range of what they spoke and discussed…
They were about to order food when Mr Pasricha entered the Café and looked around for a seat – he saw Tanisha sitting with Akash and smiled at them, “It seems the Café is chock full – would you mind if I share the table with you?”
“Of course not Sir – he is Akash, my friend and an Interior designer and Akash this is Mr Pasricha, my boss and a famous lawyer…”
They exchanged his and hellos and Akash saw one of the policeman start reporting the development on his phone to the inspector who was handling the case of Lavanya’s so called mysterious death…
“You are an Interior designer – well nice meeting you – I was thinking of a makeover of my office – can you show me some office you already have designed?” As an answer, Akash showed him photos of the office of Lavanya’s husband, “Well – looking at these photos the design seems fabulous but expensive – I am not willing to spend so much – my budget is about 500,000… Would you be able to do the makeover in that cost?”
“Yer Sir – I will try my best to do it within that budget if you approve the material I suggest – because materials are available in various qualities and costs – if you stay put with something expensive – the cost could go up…”
“I will leave the selection of material with you – I just want my office to look more professional and anyways the office interiors were done almost 10 years ago and it has started to look old…”
“Done Sir – you tell me the time and day – I will visit your office to have a look at the place before starting to design it…”
“Great – let’s order our food – you can visit my office right after we finish our lunch – if that’s possible…”
Akash saw this chance of visiting Tanisha’s office without raising the eyebrows of the police – he was going to do the makeover and it would be a business visit – he agreed…
Then they started speaking on various subjects that were irrelevant to Mr Pasricha or Akash – they were general topics like weather, sports, politics, et al.
