Just after about midnight, one of the policemen got a call, “He is sitting right in front of me – no – he didn’t get out of our sight. What did you say? – ok we will be there in about 45 minutes…”
The policemen sprang up in emergency and looked at him, “We got to go – I will suggest you accompany us…” and Akash was never in two minds – policemen were a perfect alibi for him if something happens to Ruby…
They got out of his flat and sat in the police jeep and started to drive off to an unknown location… he was not aware of what had happened for these policemen to drive off to this location and thought it was normal police emergency… they approached the junction and stopped, he got out of the car along with them… he could see few more policemen at a distance shooing away inquisitive bystanders…
He walked along with the policemen to the site where he was asked to wait while they approached a parked car…
Akash asked one of the policeman standing by his side as to what had happened and he related that they had found a dead body of a girl in the car and the investigation is underway – he felt uneasy – it could be Ruby – she had sex with him few hours ago and wanted to see who the girl was – if it wasn’t Ruby – he would be glad that nothing had happened to her…
He slowly inched his way to the car and peeped to look at the dead girl – he missed a heartbeat – it indeed was Ruby – she was the dead girl in the car. The inspector looked at him and asked his squad to drop Akash back to his flat – he was with policemen at his flat when she died – so he had nothing to do with the death of Ruby…
He couldn’t sleep that night – yet another girl had died when she had sex with him – the same night he had sex with her – and he was at a loss to understand how this was possible… he decided to wait till next day to understand the reason of her death.
Early next morning he decided to meet r Pasricha and tell him what had happened and he reached his office – Tanisha smiled at him wide and welcomed him and he sat in the reception while she attended her chores…
After some time, he was ushered into the cabin of Mr Pasricha and Akash found that Mr Pasricha looked happy and relieved… He briefed him about what had happened the night before to which Mr Pasricha poured out a shot of Whiskey for both of them…
“Good – now you will be out of their doubtful radar – this should make you feel happy… why are you so perturbed?”
“Sir, Ruby is dead and I don’t know how… further I feel bad that one of your clients is dead…”
“She was not my client.” Mr Pasricha revealed, “Let me explain – Ruby was a high society call girl and she had an escapade with one of my rich client and was blackmailing him… I paid for her services thinking of how to stop her from blackmailing my client. Yesterday, I was there to pay the instalment of her blackmail – I paid her more than she had asked for – to have sex with you…”
“Why?”
“After you told me the occurrences of deaths of those two girls I decided to help you – I believed you when you said that you are not involved with their deaths – so I let you had the pleasure of having sex escapade with her… two things in my mind – if she dies and you are with the policemen – you would be off their doubt and if she dies – it’s a good thing for my client – I will not be charging you any fees for this – instead my client would be glad to offer you 100,000 as a gift for the riddance from blackmail…”
Akash was stunned at the revelation by Mr Pasricha and knew that this was not correct – Ruby was dead even if she was a wrong person for his client… he walked out of his cabin and office stunned and without a word – Tanisha looked at him and walk out without a word and was perturbed as to what had happened to him… he walked out toward his car he had parked – the inspector who was investigating Lavanya’s death blocked his path…
“Mr Akash – I am sorry to have troubled you. But, you understand, this is police duty and you being the last person to see Lavanya alive made us doubt you – further, Ayushi also had died mysteriously after spending time with you – and now Ruby – she is dead as well… I understand that Ruby was on drugs and she died of drug overdose – you had nothing to do with any of the deaths – you are now free to live your life with policemen not following you…”
“Thanks inspector…” Akash said this with much relief.
“One thing that still is a mystery – all these girls, be it Ayushi or Lavanya or Ruby – they had the exact same expression on them when they died… any thought about this?”
“I have no idea…” Akash said truthfully as the inspector shook his hand and he left the place brooding over the fact that even Ruby had the same expression on her death – a combination of surprise, shock, pain and pleasure on their dead faces…
