Once back, he started packing items he would need when he searched the jungles for Vicky and his friends…
“Two down … six more to go” he said to himself as he zipped the bag close… unaware that Alisha was standing behind him.
“Who’s down – I mean who was number 2?”
Chaits taken by surprise turned around to see Alisha looking intently at him…
“Oh! When did you come?”
“Chaits!” said Alisha in concern, “please learn to be careful… the door was open & I could walk in – I’ve been standing here for more than 5 minutes & you didn’t even realize…. You need to be more alert… you & me are now proceeding to jungles – It’s going to be different out there… there won’t be traffic, no buildings, no people around… the only people who we may meet could be Vicky’s men – apart from wild animals & snakes who roam around freely…”
“Yeah! I realize that – thanks for letting me know & make me alert…”
Alisha looked even more concerned…
“I met Inspector Sharma & what he told me was something I didn’t anticipate…” Alisha looked at Chaits puzzled expression as her concern turned to inquisitiveness… “Well, you know what happened when we visited Pune and we racked our minds with possible logical explanation about Pakya…”
“So what about it?” asked Alisha
“Our entire theory of why Vicky is protecting Pakya & the bullets fired at Suraj has been wrong… we thought it was Vicky’s gang who shot Suraj – but they were Kingpin’s people who shot Suraj… Kingpin has handed those men over to Inspector Sharma & the forensic labs have evidence that bullets fished out of Suraj’s body indeed were shot from their guns… however…”
Alisha – couldn’t believe what Chaits was saying but kept mum as she wanted to know what info he’d from Inspector Sharma…
“The bullets they fished out of my body didn’t belong to any of their locally made revolvers they came from a very sophisticated gun capped with a silencer & Kingpin confirmed that none of his men – nor Vicky or his men did possess such a sophisticated gun. That clearly means that those people wanted to kill Suraj – but it was someone unknown who’s fired at me…”
Alisha was now really concerned…
“Further, after I told Inspector Sharma about Pakya’s psychiatric consultant – Inspector Sharma got in touch with her & laid a trap for whoever would visit – Raj visited her yesterday – but, in the meantime, he realized the trap & tried to flee… in the encounter that followed – Raj got shot by police & was declared dead on arrival at the hospital… that’s the reason I was thinking hard – clearly Vicky is aware that I’m hunting for him – then who’s the one hunting for me?”
“That’s really strange” echoed Alisha, “and that makes it doubly important that I come along with you to the jungles.”
“No. Alisha. I cannot risk your life mission of my battle for Priti’s justice… I’m glad & very proud of you. You’re shown me what it means to keep being The Best Friend and I cannot risk the life of My Best Friend for my personal revenge…”
Alisha walked over to face Chaits.
Chaits could see tears in her eyes… “I agree with you, Chaits in your place – even I’d think the same. I’ll not risk the life of My Best Friend…but… I’ll repeat myself – for you what you said is correct… now think in other way… if I were to go on such a mission would you – as My Best Friend – let me go alone?”
Chaits knew the answer & hugged Alisha…
Soon, they looked at their packed bags – content that they had everything they needed. They left to meet Mr Patel to seek his blessings before venturing out for the grand finale…
Mr Patel gave them heartfelt blessings to be victorious. Amit had been researching few things on his own on the internet & Alisha joined him to understand the details he’d researched.
“Chaits!” said Mr Patel, “here’re yours & Alisha’s membership cards – I’ve put L7 to you & L6 to Alisha’s name – I know you’re concerned about her safety – but now I know her enough now – you can’t keep her away from you – nobody can – she may be your best friend – but my experienced eyes tell me that she loves you… if she ever asks you to marry her – I’ll say – please do – you’ll never get such a nice girl who loves you so much that she doesn’t care about dangers she’d be going through with you… please consider what I say…”
Chaits looked at caring eyes of Mr Patel who continued, “My industry deals with most of the fuel pumps on the highway around the jungle & have been instructed to refuel your vehicles & attend to any repair jobs you may require – on priority…”
Chaits was trying to digest what Mr Patel had proposed about Alisha & all other things he couldn’t hear… Finally they left for Jungle Homes.
Chaits rode his bike & Alisha followed him in that fabulous all terrain car that Priti had gifted Chaits.
She followed Chaits as he turned toward the Jungle Homes on the crude road. Alisha looked around as their speed came down – it was wonderful nature & scenery around. She stopped beside Chaits as they looked at huge imposing gate of Jungle Homes…
She looked awed at the majestic natural grandeur of Jungle Homes as they walked toward L7.
The housekeeping guy opened the door of L7 for them & disappeared to get the guest stuff from the housekeeping quarters.
Alisha entered in & looked around at the romantic layout of L7 & let out a huge sigh at the sight. She heard a sobbing noise & turned around to see Chaits sobbing – obviously he was emotional – this was the very place where he’d found his love – Priti & proposed her – this was the place where Priti had expressed her love for him. This was the place – they’d decided to get married & live their life – together…
Alisha realized this & sat next to him trying her best to comfort him…
