“Hmmm – so Vicky & his friends are hiding in the jungle and I’m trying to hunt them here… What am I doing the here? I should be in the jungle searching for them & I’ve to stay put there till I get them… where can I stay? Oh! That’s simple – I need to stay put at Jungle Homes and for that I need permission from a member. I’ll speak to Mr Patel about this…” Chaits decided to visit Mr Patel.
Chaits entered the main hall where Mr Patel was sitting & watching news. As soon as he saw Chaits enter he got up & caringly looked at his bruises. He couldn’t stop tears overflowing & he held Chaits close to his heart muttering, “Thank God! You’re safe”.
“Mr Chaits! Who the hell do you think you are? And what the hell are you up to?” taken aback at these words Chaits & Mr Patel turned to look at the voice & saw Alisha fuming at the door, “Don’t you even have a courtesy to call me & let me know that you’re out of hospital & that you’re visiting Kingpin with Inspector Sharma?” Alisha did look angry “Do you know – how many times I paid a visit to the hospital – just in a crazy hope that I’ll be able to take a peek where they’d kept you just to make sure that you were ok and returned because they did not allow me?” She strode angrily toward Chaits “Do you know how concerned we’ve been here & prayed for your quick recovery? – And You! You don’t even show courtesy of calling us to let us know that you’re safe – further you hand your mobile… when I call you – Amit picks up the call & comes here to tell us that you’ve gone along with Inspector Sharma to meet the Kingpin who can kill any person without a remorse – How do you think – we’d like to know what you’re doing – without you even calling us to let us know…” Alisha gasped for breath trying to control her anger & then stepped close & hugged Chaits & started weeping.
Chaits put a soothing arm around her & said, “Hey! I’m sorry. I realize – I should have called you & let you know… I promise – this won’t happen again…”
That soothed her anger which sprouted from the seeds of her concern for Chaits’ safety… to soothe the entire environment the housekeeper announced dinner…
They are a hearty meal – especially since Chaits was fine & fit again. After the meal they sat in the open garden enjoying the cool breeze. They were all ears to Chaits who related his encounter with the Kingpin.
“Daddy! I want to go & stay put at Jungle Homes – it’ll be easy for me to hunt Vicky from there. Can you get me the permission to stay at Jungle Homes?”
Mr Patel thought for a minute & said “Gimme few minutes – I’ll get that arranged” & he walked back into this palatial bungalow…
“Chaits! I’m glad you’re Ok.” said Alisha holding his hand.
“Me too.” quipped in Amit.
“I’ve been thinking about Pakya since the time we met his doctor” said Alisha,” if he’s in such & bad mental state – why has Vicky kept him alive – I mean – after hearing Vicky’s story from Kingpin we know how ruthless he is now… it won’t take him a moment & neither will he have any remorse to kill him – why’s he protecting him – and why’s who is he being protected from?”
“Now that you mention this – even I’ve the same question.” said Chaits.
“Well – I did some research trying to understand – why….” said Amit.
Chaits looked at Amit & expected a reasonable explanation.
“What I understand is – immediately after the Jungle Homes incident – Lucky transferred an amount of 20 crores (200 million) to Pakya’s account for some reason. Since Lucky’s dead, the entire amount now solely belongs to Pakya. This could be the reason why he’s been kept alive. Vicky’s bank accounts have been sealed & I really don’t know how he operates his business – but if that amount has to be cashed – the bank would need the physical presence of Pakya & he’s not in his right senses to go to the bank & close his account. That exactly could be the reason why Vicky is trying to get him to senses so that he can get that money – once the money is taken – I’m sure – he’ll shoot Pakya” said Amit, “But that answers only one question – why – we don’t know yet from whom?”
“Obviously – he’d be protecting him from police & of course – US…” said Alisha, “Vicky won’t want him captured & rattling out everything he knows about Vicky’s business & locations.”
“I agree with you” said Amit, “but how would he know that we’re trying to get him?”
“He probably would not know that but after Chaits tried to capture Suraj – if it was Vicky’s his men who fired those bullets, they must have told Vicky. He’d have realised that it has to be Chaits…”
Even as they racked their brains to get to a logical explanation of Who & Why, they saw. Mr Patel – walk in with a file. He handed the file to Chaits & said, “Chaits! This’ll solve your problem of Jungle Homes… I’ve transferred the ownership of L7 to you. By tomorrow noon your membership card would be ready. You’re now the official owner of L7. You would not require army permission to be there…”
“I just wanted a permission daddy.”
“I thought about it… I’d never be visiting Jungle Homes again – especially after I’d been there collecting ashes of my daughter from L6” he said with tears in his eyes, “but you’ve a life that’s not even started – I’m sure that you’ll need Jungle Homes membership – and if I’ve to give away that property of mine – I couldn’t think of anyone more eligible than you… Every formality will be complete by tomorrow morning….. You can go there & fight the battle of justice for our Priti…”
“I’ll take your leave now – I’m feeling a bit drowsy – you know it’s my medicine that makes me feel drowsy will you be staying over?”
“No. I got to make preparations for jungle…”
“I’ll come with you, Chaits all my stuff is at your place & even I’ll need to pack my stuff for the jungle “said Alisha.
“Amit – I want you to stay on here – with me” said Mr Patel & everyone agreed
“Even Alisha will join you day after I leave for Jungle Homes” said Chaits.
“I’m not leaving you alone at Jungle Homes – Chaits…” Alisha was stern & firm in her statement & knowing that tone of her voice Chaits knew that he couldn’t reason or argue with her – he didn’t say a word but kept on thinking as to how he could possibly keep her away from the perils of the jungle… especially with the jungle that was infested with Vicky & his gunmen…
They had a very sound sleep & woke up late… Chaits could see about 7 missed calls on his mobile. He looked at the number to know that it was Inspector Sharma who was trying to reach him.
He quickly got ready & called Inspector Sharma… It seemed that Inspector Sharma was concerned about something… Alisha had some important work – at least that’s what she told Chaits & he dropped her at the main market on his way to meet Inspector Sharma…
Chaits was bewildered at the info he got from Inspector Sharma & kept thinking about it…
