Around the same time in Tamil Nadu:

Normal day in Chennai and everything was normal. About 85 kms off Chennai at a beach fishermen were busy they had had a good catch of fish and were happy that after a lot many days they had such a good catch.

Recently their catch had gone down because some fishing trawlers had been visiting the sea and gobbling up their catch of fish. They had tried to raise their voice to authorities to cancel the permits of the trawlers in their area and ask them to fish in deep sea – all on deaf ears.

They were planning a protest march to the local Fisheries department to put out their demands and get rid of the trawlers. They made banners and leaflets which they could distribute to local people for gathering help.

They saw that the trawlers returning from deep sea. These trawlers were not seen during the day while they collected a huge catch. The trawlers belonged to strong musclemen and they were afraid to confront them directly. The trawlers were hardly about half a nautical mile away when huge blasts were seen on those trawlers.

They couldn’t believe their eyes and the blasts were really huge. The blasts started to sink the trawlers and they rushed in with their small boats to rescue the fishermen on board the trawlers. They were able to save almost everyone – a few who were injured in the blasts couldn’t make it.

Nobody was sure how these blasts had occurred. The local authorities were informed who started an investigation in the matter. They were supposed to be fishing trawlers and nobody bothered to check for any material loss. In about 2 days the debris started to gather on the shore and a box was found. It contained banned drugs.

This became a knowledge as one of the reporters happened to notice it and spread the word around through his media channel. Now everyone was asking questions and the owner of the trawlers was absconding. There was a drug business involved and the narcotics department got involved.

They called in professional divers to explore and retrieve whatever they could salvage from the wrecks below in the sea. What they found alerted the entire system. There were boxes containing arms and ammunition and loads of fake currency which could destabilize the nation… similar blast incidences happened on the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa – and they were being probed – they also were sunk and were carrying similar shipments.

A manhunt was lodged to arrest the owners of these trawlers. But, they kept evading. Some were believed to have travelled into other nations who did not have extradition treaty with India and were safe. While those who couldn’t were being hunted for and were running around to escape the hand of the law.

Few were arrested but nobody knew what happened after that – the cases remained untold stories… the so called happening media also moved on to other stories which yielded them TRP.
