Ayushi made a call to her office colleagues telling them about her find. They said that they would be there in about 2 hours with a team of explorers…

“That’s a grand bed” Akash said pulling out his mobile camera and clicking pictures of the bed, “I am sure there would be some more items we can uncover before your team reaches here…” now Akash was in a mood to explore more in the cold bedroom they were in and started to tread a bit more cautiously so as not to damage anything that lay below the floor.

Ayushi was looking at the dilapidated walls of the palace and suggested they can try and gently break the crust that had formed on the walls. As suggested by her, Akash slowly started to break the crust and they found a set of pillars. They started to gently tap the crust and found a well carved wall between the pillars.

They started to carefully dust the crust on the wall. Slowly an image appeared on the wall. Surprisingly, the colours of that image were still bright and they started to admire the image as and when different parts started to appear in front of them…

When finally they dusted the entire portion of the wall – they looked at the image in awe… It was a huge portrait of Princess Kanika sitting in front of a mirror…

“Wow! She was beautiful… No wonder… Agnimitra couldn’t resist her advances of love and relationship…” Akash couldn’t help admiring Princess Kanika in the painting and clicked a photo. Ayushi looked at the painting in satisfaction that she had contributed something to the history of India which lay covered under the layers of crust under dust and felt proud about it…

Soon the team of Archaeological department arrived and they were awed at the find. They immediately took the site under their custody and congratulated Ayushi for her eye on these details. They even hinted that soon, she will lead excavation team for an unexplored site somewhere in India and she couldn’t help smiling at the praises by everyone. Ayushi and Akash had one last look at the awesome painting of Princess Kanika and left for their hotel, satisfied with the day’s work. Akash had clicked the pictures of all items discovered and was thinking how he could use them with the modern day technology for the exclusive furniture he would design for his clients. He couldn’t help but admire the beauty of Princess Kanika and looked at the photo he had clicked of her portrait.

“What if, we were born in the age of Princess Kanika?” Akash wondered as their cab started to move back to the hotel.

To this question Ayushi started laughing and looked at Akash, “Do you keep dreaming like this? If we were in the age when Princess Kanika was alive, we would not be sitting in this cab. You wouldn’t be an interior designer and I wouldn’t be interested in ancient history… We would have been normal citizens of some kingdom…”

They both started to laugh at the answer and Akash snapped out of his imagination of the distant age. He looked at Ayushi and her confidence attracted him. No – he was not in his flirting mood, he was considering a serious married life with Ayushi.

‘Let me reach the hotel – I have to think of a way to propose her… She is the only female who has made me feel that I should get married to and I think she is the right girl for me…’

He was unusually quiet on the return journey because he was thinking hard of how to propose to her and wherein she won’t reject his proposal… He toiled with one idea, then another and then another and Ayushi kept wondering as to why he had become so quiet and silent.

Akash was thinking hard to understand what in his proposal will work and was getting tenser as they approached the outskirts of Bundlekhand near their hotel. He was looking out of the window of the cab when he noticed a shop – it was walking distance from their hotel. He asked the driver to stop and got down and asked Ayushi to carry on to the hotel. He walked toward the shop and entered it and started looking at the exquisite items on display. Finally, he chose one of the items and packed it with a tense smile. Girls had been easy for him and his lusty conquests – but, here he was tense because it wasn’t flirting – he was going to ask Ayushi to marry him and be with him life-long…
