Khan rushed toward her and checked if she had any wounds from bullets that were fired. Satisfied that there were none, he took her hand gently and he led her out of the house. Chaitanya and Mohini followed them…
The NIA team was checking the room for any information they could find that would lead to the plans terrorists had hacked. They also were checking if they could get any information on these terrorists like their id, and other papers which could give them some lead in the case.
Khan instructed his team to keep the press away if they showed up and turned to the old man, “I am taking you to a safe place. These goons know who you are and we will keep you in a safe place till each of them is either apprehended or killed – this is for you to be safe to return here…” he instructed two of his team members to take them away from the scene before anybody from press showed up…
“You could have told them that these people were terrorists.” Chaitanya looked at Khan.
“These folks are already in a trauma and telling them the truth would devastate them – if they know who they were hiding in their house. Obviously, they would be debriefed as per procedure… Don’t worry they will be okay with NIA team protecting them.” He then turned to Mohini who was still in trauma of what had happened, “I am afraid you will have to come to our office to help us with the case…”
This was the first time Chaitanya had time to look at Mohini and felt sad as well a rage rose within him… Mohini had a black eye and her arms were black and blue from the beating of the terrorists. He gently held her hand and pulled her again toward him and she like a magnet was drawn to him and clung to him out of fear, weeping inconsolably.
Suddenly a commotion rose, some press people who got a tip of firing in the area wanted to know what happened there and were trying to barge into the area where Khan was standing. Khan realised that avoiding press was not possible so he approached them and told that he will meet them downstairs of the building in few minutes and they should let police do their work…
He asked Chaitanya to go with his colleague to his office and take Mohini along – she will not only be safe there but she also will have to help in getting these terrorists apprehended. Chaitanya and Mohini were taken to the car through entrance to the building opposite to where Khan was trying to meet the press. The press realised that they had rescued Mohini and now were more curious as to who had kidnapped her and why…
The press was eager to know who had kidnapped Mohini and why… They were pressing for answers and Khan just told them that investigation is on and it will take a while to understand why she was kidnapped…
“Mohini is a Celebrity – had it been any normal girl – would you all have done a similar job of finding and rescuing that girl or does a normal girl would have been ignored?’ a reporter asked Khan
“I assure you if it would have been anyone – we would have put similar efforts to find and rescue the person – I hope that answers your question. No more questions please, got work to do…” saying thus Khan stopped the barrage of the questions that seemed to be pouring in from the press in quest of their TRP.
Once he reached his office, he quickly started to form various groups so that action could be taken as and when they come to know of the plot hatched by the terrorists by the time Mohini was being treated by doctors for her wounds and relaxing her from the trauma she had faced…
Once done with teams, he peeked in where Mohini and Chaitanya were sitting and entered the room, “You are a brave girl – next time you can directly contact me if you have such a situation – I will take care of that… How are you feeling now?”
“I am feeling much better – you have to stop them. They are going to blast bombs of high intensity at 25 different places in and around Mumbai. Please do something and quick the day they have planned is tomorrow…”
“That’s why I asked you to come here so that we can get more information – now tell me what plans do they have – where all are they planning to blast these bombs – how many people are involved and how you can help us in making Mumbai a safe place?”
