Chaits was happy that Alisha had taken the life in positive way & was working toward being Chaits’ Best Friend… though Alisha knew how she had worked on herself constantly to curb her emotions.
One day, as she was busy at the studio recording her next episode when. Chaits called her… her heart sank… Chaits was going away…
He had to leave the country to get the project completed. He could be out of country & out of her sight for at least 3-4 months. Chaits was happy… not meeting her for at least 3-4 months would help her further in curbing her feelings for him – though he knew Priti would miss him utterly & so would he miss her.
At least they could call each other at affordable rates when he was in Delhi… calling her from abroad would prove very for him tough Priti could afford it…
He was supposed to leave in 3 days – all the required paper work was taken care by his office…
Priti felt sad & discontented when she heard Chaits would be out of country travelling to get his project completed. At least, when he roamed within the country, he was reachable…
Now he’d be globetrotting… she’d have no idea when to call him… he could be at work, travelling or sleeping depending on what time zone he’d be working… she was going to be cut off… the only thing she could do was to wait to receive his emails…
They were fast approaching the final exams of the academic year & her friends were busy preparing for their grades. This meant not much interaction with them to help her drive her loneliness away…
Apart from exams, Chaps & Payal were busy in preparation of their wedding….. Though Priti & others used to accompany them for selection of dresses & attire… they were in their own dreams… planning their future…
Priti sat all night long typing her heart & her plight and when she finished in the morning… she realized she had typed about 50 odd pages. She didn’t send that email … lest it could affect Chaits’ positive mood…
Chaits double checked his bags & belongings before packing up & waited patiently for Alisha to turn up… she had insisted on coming to airport with him to see him off…
He called Priti & had a long hearty chat with her before saying ‘bye’… he knew, once back from the project – it was going to be hectic – first with wedding of Chaps & Payal & then he’d have to make arrangement of his own wedding with Priti.
His thought process was cut short as Alisha called him to say she was on her way. He locked his apartment & stood at the gate with his baggage for Alisha to arrive…
Soon, Alisha’s car was parked at the parking lot at the airport – before Chaits could get out Alisha held his hand tenderly….
“Chaits – I’ll miss you… I know when you come back, you’ll be busy attending your friends’ wedding & then you’ll get busy with your own wedding preparations… I don’t know if I’d be able to summon courage to attend your wedding … but… please remember your Best Friend – me… I’ll always be there to share your joys – and if you ever do need a helping hand… please do remember me first… You just have to gimme a hint & I’ll be there… by your side any time you need me…”
Alisha said this & wiped a tear that was about to overflow hugged Chaits & then she couldn’t control… “One last time, Chaits” she said & kissed him… he was overwhelmed & responded. He kissed her back for some time & then released… “I think, I need to be reporting for my flight now…”
Reluctantly, Alisha agreed, however, she wanted to capture those feelings & ‘that’ touch of Chaits to cherish & remember – all her life… she hugged & kissed him again…
She had used her connections to get a VIP pass so that she could escort Chaits & Chaits found it to be a boon as Alisha escorted him through various queues that’d have taken a long time for Chaits to clear…
They sat in the lounge for about an hour before the boarding for the flight was announced… Alisha hugged him bye’ & briskly walked out of sight…. not daring to turn around & look at Chaits.
She sat in her car & wept till she saw Chaits’ plane take off…
